Christina Janiga (she/her) owns and operates a group private practice, Christina Janiga Psychotherapy in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. She holds a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. She is a Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Consultant in Training that works primarily with adults. She specializes in the treatment of past childhood trauma, developmental trauma, complex PTSD, preverbal trauma, perinatal mental health and grief, traumatic birth, and other adverse life experiences. Christina primarily practices using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and also integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices into her work. Christina is also a professor at a local college. Christina believes in the importance of making high quality trauma treatment and perinatal care accessible to all communities, and offers specialized counselling internship programs for Master’s level counselling psychology students who provide psychotherapy services to local maternal shelters.
Christina offers EMDR Consultation services (individual or group) for EMDR therapists across Canada. Consultations are held online through secure video platforms.
