Pauline Walfisch is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in New York State. She is the owner and clinical director of Helping Hands Psychotherapy- a group practice specializing in reproductive mental health. Pauline is Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International and is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist. Pauline is a seasoned practitioner and educator deeply committed to reproductive mental health and trauma-informed therapies. She currently serves on the faculty at the Stony Brook School of Social Welfare in the Field Education Department and the Executive Advisory Board of the Nassau County Perinatal Services Network.
As an EMDR-certified therapist, Pauline has found her passion in utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals resolve trauma and promote healing. Pauline was originally trained in 2019 and Pauline has been a consultant-in-training with Dr. Mara Tesler-Stein since 2021. With extensive experience in supervising, mentoring, and coaching clinicians towards their professional goals, Pauline specializes in offering consultations and training to emerging perinatal clinicians and new EMDR providers. She is committed to guiding new EMDR therapists through foundational training, focusing on basic principles, protocols, therapeutic techniques and adherence to the model. Pauline creates a supportive learning environment that enables new practitioners to ask questions, find reassurance, build confidence and learn to integrate EMDR effectively into their clinical practice.
Pauline is a member of NASW, Resolve-The National Infertility Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine Mental Health Practitioners Group, and EMDRIA—the EMDR International Association.
