It is difficult to feel centered when the daily news is rife with uncertainty, instability, and injustice; but for families who have experienced perinatal trauma, these are not new experiences.
The end of an acute crisis does not mean that life reverts to what was. If the crisis occurs amid chronic stress or loss, resilience will already have been compromised, and adaptive information taxed. It's much harder to bounce back when day-to-day life is continuously stressful.
