Anna Pemberton

Anna is a Maryland based LCPC and Perinatal Mental Health-Certified psychotherapist. She is trained as a trauma therapist and certified in somatic embodiment and regulation strategies. Anna's relational emphasis anchors her perinatal clients while navigating the turbulence and overwhelm of new motherhood. She empowers clients to increase assertiveness, set boundaries and reclaim their deep inner wisdom while navigating pregnancy and postpartum. Anna believes as we connect back to ourselves; we deepen our capacity to have meaningful, nourishing connections with others; helping clients to feel more able to trust themselves and to feel less alone. Anna specializes in working with childhood sexual abuse survivors navigating new parenthood. She often works with reproductive trauma, complex trauma, attachment trauma and self-destructive behaviors. Anna welcomes working with folks who have received Borderline Personality Disorder diagnoses or who have long histories with therapy being ineffective. Anna works from a variety of perspectives based in attachment theory, Polyvagal Theory, the Structural Dissociation model, parts work/IFS, somatic modalities (Sensorimotor/ EMDR/ Somatic Experiencing and Resourcing), mindfulness and self compassion.
