Danielle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (independently licensed to practice permanently in both Massachusetts and Connecticut and temporarily through June, 2023 in New Hampshire and Vermont) and has been practicing for over seven years. Danielle's niche is female reproductive health including pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and fertility as well as parenting, individuals (young people and adults) in crisis, individuals experiencing acute stressors, trauma/complex trauma, and attachment & dissociation. Danielle has received training from PSI in Perinatal Mental Health and is pursuing certification (PMH-C) in this specialization as well, which is considered the gold standard for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). Danielle is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through an accredited EMDRIA training facility.
It was through her own journey when she became pregnant with her first child that she realized how few people truly were educated in perinatal mental health and were able to provide sound services and support to people at such a vulnerable time. Admittedly, she was struggling and needed a knowledgeable therapist herself and was fortunate enough to find one that was sensitive and educated to the issues she was experiencing; she felt heard and understood, which is something she believes every person deserves to feel. Danielle had her daughter right at the peak of the early COVID-19 pandemic (March, 2020) and it became disturbingly evident that there were not only few trained mental health professionals in perinatal mental health but also in all other areas that service this population of people. Danielle's goal is to educate and share factual information to ensure all professionals serving the perinatal population are equipped with the most up to date knowledge to help all perinatal people feel heard and understood - to normalize their experience and empathize with such a unique period in their lives.
In addition to her work experience, Danielle resides in the Pioneer Valley area in Massachusetts with her husband and two young children. They enjoy spending time together outdoors soaking in all of the Vitamin D they can and finding the best ice cream spots around! Personally, she enjoys cooking as well as baking as hobbies!
