Emily Beltran

Emily Beltran was born and raised in San Diego County, California. She studied Human Development at California State University San Marcos and then completed her Master's in Social Work at San Diego State University in 2009. Since her first job at a preschool at 16, she has always worked with children and families. In 2013 she become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker while 37 weeks pregnant with her first born. After having perinatal anxiety and a traumatic birth (including NICU stay) with her first born, Emily became drawn to working with pregnant and postpartum families and individuals. She has completed extensive training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International and the 2020 Mom Project and pregnancy loss and abortion grief training through Life Perspectives. She received her Perinatal Mental Health Certification through PSI while pregnant with her third baby in 2020. This work is Emily’s passion, and she has worked 10 plus year with pregnant and postpartum families. Emily recently left her government job working with military families to pursue her private practice full-time and currently offers psychotherapy via tele-health throughout California. She focuses on pregnancy, pregnancy loss and abortion, fertility issues, birth trauma and postpartum adjustment. She works with individuals coping with anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. When working with Emily, clients will experience modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and EMDR. She was trained in EMDR in 2019 and received advanced training through the Touchstone Institute for EMDR for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
